Understanding how citizens actually feel about city management is crucial for effective governance. Issues such as waste management, green energy initiatives, housing shortages, traffic congestion, and neighbourhood safety are common concerns. However, tracking these sentiments across a large population can be challenging. Sentimeter addresses this by providing local authorities with a new tool to gauge public opinion accurately.

Our Approach

Sentimeter uses social media analysis based on location, keywords and known municipal accounts – such as local authorities and community groups. Using natural language processing (NLP), it carries out sentiment analysis to detect trends and emerging issues. This allows municipalities to gain precise insights into public opinion dynamics and address citizen concerns promptly.

What Impact is it Having?

Sentimeter is advancing how municipalities like The Hague can comprehend citizen voices, providing a real-time pulse on public opinion. By delivering a customized, user-friendly dashboard equipped with comprehensive visualization tools, city officials can easily interpret the data streams. This leads to informed decision-making and better resource allocation, ultimately enhancing community engagement and satisfaction.
